Lizzo revealed she stayed true to a personal “Grammy virginity” promise, waiting until her first win in 2020 before celebrating the milestone.
Speaking at the episode of the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, the About Damn Time singer revealed that she waited until her 30s to lose her virginity.
"I was a late bloomer. I lied about it for a long time," Lizzo, 37, told hosts Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky (born Dave Burd) and Kristin Batalucco.
After some guesses about her age, Lizzo shared that it actually happened in 2020.
"Isn't that crazy?" she asked. "I wasn't even thinking about it... I promised myself when I was younger that I wouldn't have sex until I won a Grammy."
Lizzo chuckled at the remark and explained it didn’t occur on Grammy night, but sometime shortly afterward.
"I feel a weight off of my chest right now," she said, adding, "It was so embarrassing. I was in a friend group of girls. We were all girling one night and it was like, 'Wait, Lizzo are you a virgin?'"
"I was remember it was so embarrassing. I said, 'I love the D.' I said that," Lizzo noted, adding, "And it held me over for a little while."
Then, Lizzo revealed she had her first kiss at 21 and it was "terrible."
"Ya'll have no idea. It was religious for me too. Like, when we were teenagers at my church, we all made a pact that we wouldn't do anything before marriage. And then, I was just so scared. Like, nobody wanted to kiss me," she explained.
To note, Lizzo has been dating Myke Wright since going public in 2022, though they’ve known each other since cohosting MTV’s Wonderland in 2016.
