Sean “Diddy” Combs’ release date has been moved up once more as his appeal hearing draws near.
The disgraced music mogul release date has been moved up 10 days to April 15, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, following earlier adjustments that shortened his sentence from June 4, 2028.
His release timeline has shifted several times in recent months, initially delayed from May 2028 to June 2028 last December, before being moved up to April 2028 earlier this March.
Combs is serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted last summer on two counts of transportation for prostitution, following a high-profile federal trial in New York.
He was acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
Before sentencing, he spent about a year in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, with prosecutors seeking over a decade in prison and his defense arguing for no more than 14 months.
Combs is housed at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, a military-base federal facility outside Philadelphia, a placement his lawyers sought due to its rehabilitation resources and proximity to family.
“In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that the court strongly recommend to the Bureau of Prisons that Mr. Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix,” his attorney, Teny Geragos, wrote in a court filing in October 2025.
Last December, Combs’ lawyers appealed his conviction, arguing the encounters were consensual and the sentence was too harsh.
