The former member of rock band Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham, was attacked by a woman when he showed up for an appointment in Santa Monica, LA.
As reported by NBC4, a woman, described by authorities as a stalking suspect, threw an unknown substance at the guitarist before she fled from the scene.
Police have identified the suspect, but no arrests were reported as of Wednesday morning, April 1.
According to law enforcement sources, the two-time Grammy winner knows the woman from past incidents, with an arrest expected to take place soon.
While Buckingham was not injured, it was revealed that the woman found out when and where the singer had an appointment and showed up at the location.
The disturbing attack came a year after Buckingham was granted a permanent restraining order against a stalker who was identified as a 53-year-old called Michelle.
Lindsey Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975 and released a solo album in 1981. He teamed with bandmate Christine McVie for a duet album in 2017.
Buckingham, who shared a complicated personal and professional history with bandmate Stevie Nicks, was dismissed from the band in 2018.
