Elizabeth Taylor’s estate has responded to Taylor Swift’s latest music video, which pays homage to the late Hollywood legend.
Shortly after The Life of a Showgirl singer unveiled her surprise Elizabeth Taylor music video, the late actress’s estate responded to the tribute, which features archival clips from films like Cleopatra, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, A Place in the Sun, and Giant.
As per TMZ, a rep told said, “It is a celebration of Elizabeth from beginning to end, and an homage in the truest sense.”
They added, “We are delighted by this celebration and the care with which Taylor Swift has spotlighted what so many have long understood: Elizabeth Taylor was a true icon, a trailblazer in every sense of the word.”
The estate mentioned, “She lived unapologetically and on her own terms, embracing her public life with grace and courage while fiercely protecting the private world she cherished with family and friends. That balance, that duality, was one of her most remarkable qualities.”
It continued, “If there is anyone navigating the extraordinary pressures of global fame with comparable authenticity and strength, it is Taylor Swift. The estate is honored that she chose to pay tribute in this way, and have no doubt that Elizabeth would have loved every frame of it.”
The child star-turned-Oscar winner, known for her violet eyes, died at 79 in 2011 from heart failure.
Taylor Swift closed her tribute by thanking the House of Taylor, the Elizabeth Taylor Trust, and the Todd and Wilding families.
