Blake Lively’s sexual harassment lawsuit against Justin Baldoni has suffered a major setback after a judge dismissed 10 of her 13 claims.
On April 2, a federal judge in New York’s Southern District issued a ruling regarding the Five Feet Apart star’s attempt to dismiss the case before trial.
The judge rejected most of the Gossip Girl starlet's claims, including harassment and defamation, but allowed a narrower group—like breach of contract and retaliation—to move ahead.
Judge Liman said some claims couldn’t proceed—especially those relying on Lively being an employee—while others, including retaliation allegations, can move forward.
The ruling dismisses several claims, including retaliation and those against individual defendants, but allows others—such as one claim against Wayfarer—to proceed.
The trial is set for May 18.
In December 2024, the Green Lantern star sued her It Ends With Us costar and others for alleged sexual harassment and a retaliatory smear campaign tied to It Ends With Us, seeking over $160 million.
However, he denied the claims and he later filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and others, which was dismissed in June 2025.
The ruling comes after a court-ordered settlement conference on February 11 that failed to reach an agreement.
