Manon Bannerman has shared a significant update about her future with KATSEYE hours after sparking exit speculations by removing the group's name from her Instagram bio.
The move came after fans failed to spot the 23-year-old in the 15-second teaser of the girl group's upcoming track titled Pinky Up, set to be released on April 9.
Furthermore, the track would be the first song without Manon, who has been on hiatus since February 20, with their label citing health and well-being.
Hours after the release of the teaser, Manon removed the group name from her Instagram bio, prompting fans to speculate that she has decided to distance herself from the band.
Amid the widespread panic about her departure from KATSEYE, Manon has addressed the issue directly.
On Friday, April 3 KST, Manon sent a message to her fans on Weverse, expressing gratitude while sharing that she is having a "positive" discussion with her label, HYBE X GEFFEN.
"Thank you so much for all the love and support you've been sending my way. I'm really grateful for the patience and kindness everyone has shown during this time," she penned.
Manon added, "HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I'm happy and I'm healthy. I'll share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me."
Moreover, it has not been confirmed if Manon will be part of the group's highly anticipated Coachella performance scheduled for April 10.
Manon's hiatus announcement came at the heels of fans' discourse about her alleged mistreatment during promos and interviews, and has the break news also highlighted how the Black members of global girl groups are treated "differently".
