Max Greenfield, who played Schmidt on the hit show New Girl, shared that fans would soon enjoy a reunion.
'New Girl' reunion is happening?
On Friday, July 31, Greenfield appeared in an episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, where he was asked why the New Girl reunion is "not happening.
The 45-year-old replied, "As far as I know, it's happening," adding, "I've seen scripts, they're amazing."
New Girl ran for seven seasons, from September 2011 to May 2018. Besides Greenfield, the cast included Jake Johnson, Zooey Deschanel, Lamorne Morris, Damon Wayans Jr. and Hannah Simone.
Greenfield’s comments came after other cast members have also been asked about a reunion.
In a recent interview on Today, Morris jokingly claimed that Johnson is the sole reason a reunion is not happening, sharing that Hollywood has changed the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse star.
Meanwhile, Johnson recently spoke about his memories of the show in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying, "It definitely doesn't feel like yesterday. It feels like a long time ago, but I'm still so close to the whole cast."

"It's crazy that we've now known each other for 15 years, but what a dream that show was, and the fan base of that show was so fun, and so honestly, being able to do a show like this show is because of that. So it's really a blessing," he said while promoting his new Apple TV series, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed.
Speaking to PEOPLE in February 2026, Greenfield shared how special it is when the cast all got together.
"If you put us together in any circumstance, we go right back," Greenfield said at the time.
He added, "It's really scary. We all keep in touch in a really beautiful way. I was texting with Jake this morning."
About 'New Girl'
New Girl is a comedy TV show and follows an upbeat, quirky teacher named Jess who moves into a Los Angeles loft with three single men after a bad breakup.
The main characters included Jess, Nick, Schmidt, and Winston.
