Paris Jackson has opened up about her secret engagement and the decision to call off her wedding to Justin Long.
The Sex Appeal star has addressed her split from bandmate and former fiancé Justin Long, who proposed after the couple had been together for around three years.
During her Call Her Daddy interview with Alex Cooper, Paris discussed her past romances.
She said, “This is also my second engagement that I called off, the first one. I don't know if you could count the first one, it was real to me, even though we were strung out on drugs, and the ring was one that he bought with my money without me knowing, it was still like, the love was so real for me in that first one.”
Paris added, “So this was like ‘ah this is the second one.’”
The Swarm star, who celebrated six years of sobriety earlier this year, previously struggled with heroin and alcohol addiction, which she said helped her cope with depression and emotional trauma after her father’s death.
She said, “If I have a hit of weed or a drink, I'm going to go back on heroin. I realised I couldn't stop after I'd gotten rid of like some of the harder stuff and I realised even with weed and alcohol, I was like, I just couldn't stop and it was just getting worse.”
The Doctor Odyssey starlet mentioned, “I had my breaking point, I had my bottom. It just kind of did it for me.”
Paris said she called off her engagement to Justin after realizing that, despite trying to leave, she kept hoping things would get better.
Even with support from therapists, friends and others, she struggled to justify staying.
