Hayden Panettiere, the actress known for her roles in Heroes and Remember the Titans, has died at 36, her representative confirmed.
As reported by PEOPLE, the Nashville actress’ representative confirms the devastating news in a statement shared on behalf of her father, Alan Panettiere.
The statement said, “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden.”
It added, “She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen,” he added.
Panettiere died on August 16, and additional information surrounding her passing has not been disclosed yet.
Hayden Panettiere career
She kicked off her professional acting career in 1994, when she was cast in the ABC soap opera One Life to Live.
Panettiere continued her soap opera career with CBS’ Guiding Light in 1996, returning to the series from 1997 to 2000.
She began her film career at the age of 9, as the narrator and the voice of Princess Dot in Pixar’s A Bug’s Life (1996).
Prior to this she got one of her most notable roles: the football-loving young daughter of assistant coach Bill Yoast, played by Will Patton, in the biographical film Remember the Titans (2000).
Panettiere made a name in acting with various television projects, including Ally McBeal and Malcolm in the Middle, as well as films such as Tiger Cruise (2004) and Ice Princess (2005).
In 2006, Panettiere got an opportunity to portray in NBC’s Heroes, playing a high school cheerleader with self-healing powers.
The breakout role turned her into an international star.
After Heroes ended in 2010, Panettiere appeared in Scream 4 in 2011 before reprising her beloved role in Scream 6 in 2023.
From 2012 to 2018, Panettiere starred in all six seasons of ABC’s Nashville.
She later returned to acting with Scream 6, followed by Amber Alert, A Breed Apart and her final film, Sleepwalker.
She also released music throughout her career.
Panettiere welcomed daughter Kaya with then-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko in December 2014.
The former couple co-parented her until 2018, when Klitschko was granted full custody.
