Actor Hong Min-gi, known for his roles in Study Group, Love Your Enemy, and Trigger, has been hit with several disturbing allegations, including dating violence and dog abuse.
On Wednesday, August 19, the actor's alleged ex-girlfriend, referred to as Influence A, shared a series of social media posts, set to expose Min-gi, alongside a certified document sent via a law firm.
The certified document, dated July 28, was titled "Notice of Legal Action for Illegal Criminal Acts" and alleged that Hong Min-gi threw dangerous objects, assaulted, and threatened A.
Physical violence allegations against Hong Mingi
According to A, Min-gi threw and shattered a soju bottle toward them on the street, physically assaulted them by striking their shoulder and grabbing their neck.
She also alleged that Hong Mingi invaded her privacy by secretly checking her mobile phone and KakaoTalk messages.
After the legal complaint went viral, Influencer A posted a photo of Hong Mingi, stating, "The previous story about this person is true," directly identifying him as the subject of the allegations.
Hong Mingi accused of throwing anachronistic remarks about women
Later, A also claimed that Min-gi often made misogynistic remarks and belittled his ex-girlfriend, who is currently working as an actress.
He allegedly made remarks such as "Women are the best in their early 30s, and if they move on, they are old ladies," "Women should go to the army," and "Men are the sky and women are the land."
Hong Mingi allegedly abused his 'beloved' dog
There were also claims that he abused his dog, Leo, whom he often post on social media.
Influencer A claimed that Hong Min-ki showed off his dog on social media but in reality kicked the animal and swore at him.
The ex-girlfriend also shared that she suffered from continuous verbal abuse and gaslighting during their relationship, as Ming-gi often blamed the accuser for his deteriorating mental health, saying things like "I want to die" and "Let's die together".
She noted that she suffered from guilt, believing that Hong Min-gi's panic disorder stemmed from her, and revealed that she visited his home multiple times to kneel and apologise.
Moreover, she alleged that even though they had already broken up, Hong Min-ki forced her onto the bed, attempted sexual intercourse, and touched her body.
Hong Mingi's label breaks silence on dating violence allegations
Hong Mingi's agency, Fable Company, denied the claims, stating that they were "not true," adding, "We are reviewing the details internally."
Born in 2002, Hong Min-gi made his acting debut in 2020 and has appeared in several hit K-dramas, including Love Your Enemy, To My Beloved Thief, Doctor on the Edge, Trigger, Crushology 101, and Study Group.
He recently completed filming the second season of Study Group, and without a detailed response from his label following the disturbing allegations, fans have been forced to question his future in the project.
