Halle Berry has opened up about her friendship with Zendaya, affectionately calling the actress a “little sweetheart” and revealing that she would love to work with her someday.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the Create & Cultivate event in Los Angeles on Sunday, the Crime 101 star opened up about her connection with the Euphoria starlet.
“I do speak to her and I have to say she is the sweetest and my little sweetheart and I would love to find something to do with her someday,” Berry said of Zendaya.
She added, “I mean, hopefully we will, but I’m just a supporter of her.”
“I love everything she’s doing,” she continued.
Berry mentioned, “I think she is changing the game in so many ways for her generation. And I couldn’t be more proud of someone or to know someone honored that she would pay homage to me that way. That was really sweet.”
It’s not the first time that Berry has showered Zendaya with love after seeing the Dune star’s choice of outfit at the 2026 Emmy Awards.
Berry had previously shared stylist Law Roach’s Instagram Stories post, originally from The Zoe Report, showing side-by-side photos of Zendaya at the September 14 event and Berry at the 2002 premiere of Die Another Day.
She added an animated heart and tagged both Roach and Zendaya.
The appearance marked one of Zendaya’s first outings with her “reimagined” pixie cut, which hairstylist Coree Moreno said was given added texture and lift with a “modern, editorial” approach.
Berry praised Zendaya, saying she “murdered the night” in a second Instagram Stories post while sharing Refinery29’s interview with Roach, who confirmed the inspiration behind the Spider-Man: Brand New Day star’s look.
She then posted a clip of herself revealing that she would like to play Zendaya’s mom one day during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.
