In an eye-popping new update, Deepika Padukone is being eyed to join her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and his wife Alia Bhatt for a new project.
According to Pinkvilla’s latest report, the Bajirao Mastani star has been approached for a special role in Kapoor and Bhatt starrer Brahmastra’s sequel.
Speaking to the outlet, an insider told that director Ayan Mukerji is in talks with Padukone about taking on the powerful role of Amruta in the upcoming installment.
"Ayan and the core team are confident about bringing Deepika on board, recognising that the role of Amruta requires an actor with immense gravitas. While discussions are on, official confirmations will depend on overall timeline alignments," the source shared.
The report also noted that Mukerji and the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actor are actively preparing to kick off the filming soon, with the script currently in work in full swing.
As per the source, Ranbir Kapoor is scheduled to wrap up filming for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Part 2 by January 2027, after which he will undergo a brief preparation phase.
He will officially begin filming for Brahmastra 2 in April 2027.
"Ranbir is super excited to embark on this journey again. In a massive dual-role challenge, RK will portray both Dev and Shiva in the sequel," the tipster noted.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt will be reprising her role as Isha.
