Dolly Parton has left the entertainment industry mourning.
The legendary country singer was pronounced dead at the age of 80 on Tuesday, August 25, with her family sharing that she passed away peacefully while being surrounded by her loved ones at her Nashville home.
According to her representative, Dolly Parton’s cause of death was cancer.
Shortly after her death news made headlines, several celebrities, including Katy Perry, Anne Hathaway, and Jimmy Fallon posted emotional tributes to mourn her demise.
Katy Perry
Taking to Instagram, Katy Perry posted a large carousel of photos and videos with the late singing icon and penned an emotional message.
“Like the rest of the world, my heart sank seeing the news of dear Dolly’s passing. She meant so much to so many people for so long. I had the honor of meeting and singing with her several times. Every time I saw Dolly, she was a pure, sweet (but not saccharine) sassy, cup of joy,” the Harleys in Hawaii singer wrote.
She continued, “If there’s someone you wanna look up to and model your life after, it’s Dolly. Dolly was glam, funny, and kind as fuck. Her star will forever shine bright and I bet you she’s already remodeling them pearly gates with rhinestones. We will always love you Dolly!”
Anne Hathaway
Alongside a series of throwback clip and photos of Parton, Anne Hathaway mourned, “Dolly. Aw heck… Heaven just got one of its own back. Alright my loves, I know this is hard but just think: she left us so much to work with. She shared with us so many melodies, so many lyrics, so many stories, so many jokes, so much laughter, so many iconic performances but most of all, so many shining examples of how to be a treasure of humanity.”
The Odyssey actress added, “She more than deserves her rest, and now it’s up to us to do our best follow in her brilliant, adorable, one-of-a-kind, bedazzled footsteps so that we still feel that magic in our world.

Beyoncé also took to her official website to express grief over Dolly Parton’s death.
“Dolly, you were the barometer. The north star. Bold and brilliant. Talented and tenacious. You taught so many lessons on how to be uniquely oneself. I am grateful for your art, your heart, your generosity, your humor, your entrepreneurship. I’m honored that I had the privilege to work with you,” she penned.
The 44-year-old singer stated, “I will treasure that forever. Thank you for your profound impact on the world. You are an angel who has made this world a happier place because of your joyful art. You are truly one of one. Rest peacefully.”

On her Instagram Stories, Blake Lively posted a clip of Parton, writing, “Love you Dolly. Always. so lucky to grow up with you a woman like you as an idol. Someone who balanced grace and grit constantly. Outspoken for others, a warrior who still felt kind. Your smile and simple feeling sweetness was the way you smuggled brilliance, ferocity, advocacy and poetry into popular culture. You are one of one.”

On her social media account, Kelly Clarkson expressed her thoughts on the legendary singer’s death, stating, “Dolly Parton had a way of making everyone feel special, and seen, and welcomed, and as if you were old friends. I will miss her heart and her voice as I am sure millions will. What an incredible gift and talent she was and still is with an amazing catalogue of art she has left behind for all of us.”

Jimmy Fallon also joined the Hollywood stars in mourning Dolly Parton’s demise by posting a touching tribute to honor the late songstress.
“I was lucky enough to know and work with the one and only Dolly Parton. She was a phenomenal guest on the show; always funny and always made everyone she met feel like a million dollars. We did duets together, laughed together and danced through Dollywood in the Smoky Mountains of Pigeon Forge. And even though we did all that, I would still get butterflies just being in her presence,” the TV host wrote.
