Samuel Monroe Jr, best known for his role in the Menance II Society, has been making headlines due to a legal battle unfolding between his wife and mother.

Samuel Monroe Jr conservatorship attempt

The actor's wife, Shawna Stewart, is fighting his mother, Joyce Patton, over her conservatorship bid, which she filed when he remains in hospital in LA.

Shawna, whose marriage was also questioned by Samuel's mother, claimed that the actor's mother is trying to cut her out of the picture while he struggles in the hospital.

Conservatorship bid is 'financially motivated'?

As reported by TMZ, Shawna believes Joyce's petition asking to establish a conservatorship for her son is financially motivated, and not at all about the actor's well-being.

The actor's wife claimed that Samuel made it clear that he wanted her in charged of his money and medical decisions and not his mother.

According to court docs obtained by TMZ, an attorney has been appointed to the case on Samuel's behalf, and his medical records were ordered to be released to a probate investigator assigned to the case.

In her petition to the court, Joyce mentioned the GoFundMe set up by Shawna for his bills, and said she believes Shawna is receiving his film residuals.

Shawna tells TMZ she has not touched a penny of her husband's money and suspects his mother wants access to funds hence, the conservatorship bid.
