Nicole Kidman has recalled a funny moment from the Practical Magic 2 set when she picked up co-star Sandra Bullock, joking that she has “muscles” after the unexpected display of strength.
Speaking to PEOPLE at the film’s European premiere in London on August 26, the Baywatch star said there were “so many” funny moments while filming the highly anticipated sequel.
“Jumping off the roof together, all of us, was kind of crazy,” Kidman shared, before adding, “Um, dancing when it was 3 a.m. in the morning and freezing cold and making it look warm.”
Kidman admitted she managed to pick up Sandra Bullock, 62, her costar and friend of nearly 30 years, “I can literally pick her up; I have muscles. But she always says she’s solid, but she’s not solid, she’s light as a feather.”
The Lioness star and Bullock have returned as iconic witch sisters Sally and Gillian Owens in the sequel, reuniting with Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing as their magical aunts.
Kidman and Bullock smiled for photos together at Wednesday’s premiere, with Bullock wearing a strapless Givenchy leopard-print dress and Kidman in a custom Chanel gown by Matthieu Blazy.
The duo were joined at the premiere by Joey King and Maisie Williams, who play Bullock’s onscreen daughters, Kylie and Antonia Owens. Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod also star.
Based on Hoffman’s 1995 novel, Practical Magic centers on sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, who face a generations-old curse targeting their romantic partners.
Wednesday’s premiere marked Stockard Channing’s first red carpet appearance in two years, following her decision to live as a “recluse” after the 2014 death of longtime partner Daniel Gillham.
Channing discussed the lasting effect of Daniel’s 2014 death in an August 5 Sunday Times piece, saying the grief hit her later than expected.
Practical Magic 2 is in theaters September 11.
