UEFA has completed the draw for the 2024-25 Europa League phase in Monaco. British clubs Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Rangers have discovered their eight match opponents under the newly expanded 36-team single-league system.
Blockbuster battles ahead
Scottish giants Rangers were handed a thrilling schedule as “Philippe Clement’s side will travel to face Manchester United” at Old Trafford in one of the tournament’s standout fixtures.
“The Gers will face home fixtures against Tottenham, Olympique Lyonnais, Union Saint-Gilloise and FCSB,” plus away trips to Olympiacos, Malmo and Nice.
English Giants face tough paths
Tottenham Hotspur will host AS Roma, AZ Alkmaar, Qarabag and Elfsborg while traveling to face Rangers, Ferencvaros, Galatasaray and Hoffenheim.
Manchester United’s campaign includes home ties against Rangers, PAOK, Bodo/Glimt and Twente, alongside tricky away trips to Porto, Fenerbahce, Viktoria Plzen and FCSB.
How the new format works
Instead of six group matches, each team now plays eight games against eight different opponents – four at home and four away. The top eight teams advance directly to the last 16, while teams finishing 9th to 24th enter a playoff round. Matches kick off starting in September.
