Farhan Akhtar has celebrated 25 years of his iconic film, Dil Chahta Hai, with a touching note.
The Bhaag Milkha Bhaag star – who has directed one of Bollywood's finest films- has now celebrated the silver jubilee with the leading cast of the movie, including Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and others.
On Saturday, August 29, Farhan took to his Instagram account to share the new snaps from the star-studded event, which took place in India to recall the memorable moments of Dil Chahta Hai.
"Somehow 25 years later..we still have a lot to say to each other," Farhan stated in the caption.
At the event hosted by Amazon Music, Saif Ali Khan and Aamir Khan reunited with the entire team of the movie, who worked tirelessly nearly twenty-five years ago.
Apart from Farhan, Saif, and Aamir, the event featured music producer Javed Akhtar, Dimple Kapadia, Sonali Kulkarni, Zoya Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Shibani Dandekar, Shabana Azmi, Shankar Mahadevan, Gajraj Rao, and Shriya Pilgaonkar, and others.
However, co-lead actors Akshaye Khanna and Preity Zinta were notably absent from the gathering.
The reunion was organised to celebrate the silver jubilee of the film's release.
Notably, Saif Ali Khan wore a black blazer at the event and donned sunglasses to complement his outfit as he posed with Farhan Akhtar, Aamir Khan, Dimple Kapadia and others for a group photo.
About Dil Chahta Hai's plot
The iconic film was released in 2001, which focused on the lives of three friends as they navigated love, friendship and the uncertainties of life after graduation.
At the time, the film was widely appreciated for its fresh storyline, performances and memorable music.
It went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi and developed a strong following, particularly among urban audiences.
Shot across Mumbai and locations in Australia, Dil Chahta Hai also stood out for its contemporary portrayal of friendship and relationships.
