Priyanka Chopra's mother, Madhu Chopra, has joined the backlash targeting Kriti Sanon's outfit in a Raksha Bandhan ad by an Indian jewellery brand.
Kriti Sanon has been making headlines amid backlash over her outfit in the ad, with many social media users objecting to her Indo-Western attire.

Addressing the controversy at the Women Building Cinema Together event in Mumbai, Madhu noted, "My body, my choice is right, but woh daayra zaruri hai [boundary is necessary]."
"Dignity, respecting other people's values is important. Ab yeh cheezein aisi jagah kar sakte hai jahan par yeh normal hai. Par yeh yahan normal nahi hai. [You can wear such things where they are normal, but in this case this is not normal]. Sorry to say that," she added.
Talking about Priyanka and how she wears bold clothes work, Madhu said in Hindi, "My kids also wear such clothes, for work and because they like wearing but I also feel, they need to look good aesthetically as per the occasion. If it's not looking aesthetic, it will draw criticism."
Following the backlash over the outfit, the jewellery brand GIVA removed its Raksha Bandhan ad for the Hindu festival featuring Kriti Sanon.
In a statement, posted on its social media pages, the brand said that their aim was not to "hurt the sentiments of some segments of society" and had withdrawn the ad.

The ad showed Kriti celebrating the Hindu festival in which sisters tie a thread called "Rakhi" over their brothers' wrists.
In the advertisement, Kriti wore an Indo-Western ensemble featuring a bralette-skirt combo with a cape and tying a Rakhi to her brother and pet dog
The video led to an uproar, with many criticising her choice of clothing during a traditional festival and some even objecting to her tying a Rakhi on a dog.
Kriti Sanon speaks out amid the backlash
Addressing the backlash and trolling, Kriti said that "culture and traditions are in a woman's heart, not in her neckline".
She also reacted to the backlash of her tying Rakhi to her pet, noting that though the festival traditionally celebrates the bond between a brother and sister, its spirit was about protecting loved ones, which, for her, included her sister and her pet.
