A night of music turned into horror when a gunman opened fire during an overnight music event at a horse racing track in Aarau, Switzerland.
A 22-year-old woman died at the scene, while five other people – four men and one woman aged between 24 and 27 – were rushed to hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to severe.

The victim who lost her life was identified by officials as an Italian citizen living in Switzerland Partygoers described a terrifying scene as the gunfire broke out around 2:30 a.m.
Swiss DJ Tekibo, who performed at the party shared his grief on social media writing that “techno and raves are supposed to be a place for freedom and safety, never a place where something like this happens.”
Chaos and eyewitness accounts
Witnesses revealed that many attendees initially mistook the loud gunshots for fireworks. Panic erupted only when someone suddenly shouted, “Everyone down!”
People quickly ducked for cover beneath the DJ booth to protect themselves from the gunfire.
Major manhunt and arrest
Swiss police launched a massive multi-agency manhunt immediately following the shooting. Following intense search efforts, police announced that they arrested a 43-year-old male suspect in connection with the attack.
