Queen Mary is gearing up to launch a groundbreaking project.
The Royal Family of Denmark took to their official Instagram account on Friday, September 4, to share about the Queen’s latest outing, reporting that she made an appearance on the site of a new hospital, set to be named after her.
According to the update, the medical center, named Mary Elizabeth Hospital – The Kingdom for Children, Young People and Pregnant Women, will be the “first of its kind in the world,” and is expected to open next year.
During her new outing, Queen Mary visited the hospital to oversee the progress of the project.
““Mary Elizabeth Hospital – The Kingdom for Children, Young People and Pregnant Women” is taking shape. Her Majesty The Queen recently visited the hospital to inspect the future children’s and young people’s hospital, which is expected to open in 2027,” shared Amalienborg Palace.
The Royals noted, ‘The hospital, named after the Queen, will be the first of its kind in the world. Through collaboration with municipalities, general practitioners, hospitals, researchers and other partners in Denmark and internationally, the hospital will promote new knowledge about the best treatment for children, young people and pregnant women.”
“With a safe and homely atmosphere, Mary Elizabeth Hospital will not only house patients, but also the lives and needs of the patients and their relatives,” the statement elaborated.

Mary Elizabeth Donaldson is the Queen of Denmark as the wife of King Frederik X.
She first met the then-Crown Prince Frederik at the Slip Inn in Sydney, Australia, during the 2000 Summer Olympics and got married to him on May 14, 2004, in Copenhagen Cathedral.
The Royal couple have four children: Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
