Instagram is launching the latest feature that allows users more control over the content displayed on their profile.

The company now enables users to add posts they have been tagged in directly to their main profile grid.

For example, if someone shares a group photo from a party, concert, vacation or night out and tags you, you can now add that post to your own profile grid.

The significant update provides users a simple solution for whoever wants to display images shared by friends without reposting and uploading the similar content themselves.

With this update, users engaged with the app can easily add a tagged post from the direct-message notification they receive when tagged, from the post itself or through their Tagged tab.

If they later change their mind, the post can be removed from the main grid.

Adding a tagged post does not create a duplicate or move the original post. The original content remains on the account that published it, while the tagged post simply appears on your profile. Removing it from your grid also does not remove it from the Tagged tab.

Instagram stated the feature could also benefit creators working on a partnership basis. Rather than republishing content, creators can show posts they have been tagged in on their own profiles.

Moreover, the feature can help in brand campaigns involving several creators.

Instagram’s new update comes after the company's wider efforts to provide enhanced control over their profiles and content.

In June, the platform launched a feature that enables users to rearrange posts on their profile grids.

Alongside the update, Instagram has launched features aimed at simplifying content creation and management, including First Draft for editing Reels and Replace Audio that lets users to change the music attached to existing posts.
