Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro brings multiple upgrades over its predecessor, iPhone 17 Pro, including the latest camera system, increased performance and prolonged battery life.

Design and display
The Cupertino-based tech giant’s recently launched iPhone 18 Pro retains the aluminium unibody, Ceramic Shield 2 and large rear camera plateau launched with the iPhone 17 Pro.
Both entails an enlarged 6.3-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and the same resolution and brightness levels.
The biggest visible change is the smaller Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro, rolled out with a variety of tantalizing hues, including burgundy and glacier blue, while dropping the iPhone 17 Pro’s popular cosmic orange option.
Camera upgrades
The biggest enhancement comes with the camera. Both phones feature 48MP main, ultrawide and telephoto cameras, but the iPhone 18 Pro introduces Apple’s first variable-aperture main camera.
Users can choose between four aperture settings, allowing greater control over low-light photography and depth of field.
In terms of camera capabilities, Apple also added new professional camera controls, including manual adjustments for aperture, shutter speed and white balance.
Performance and battery
The iPhone 18 Pro is powered by the new A20 Pro chip, replacing the A19 Pro in the predecessor, increasing its capabilities.
Notably, the latest model is said to be graphics performance is up to 40 per cent faster, while an enhanced cooling system helps maintain performance for longer.
Battery life also raises nearly up to 31 hours of video playback on the iPhone 17 Pro to 34 hours on the iPhone 18 Pro.
Is it worth upgrading?
The iPhone 18 Pro is available for $1,199, which is over $100 as compared to the iPhone 17 Pro’s launch price.
For new buyers, however, the iPhone 18 Pro comes with a range of cutting-edge features, while discounted iPhone 17 Pro models could provide better value.
