Jack Antonoff has finally made comments on his split from Margaret Qualley.

On Tuesday night, the We are Young singer was performing at the Troubadour in Los Angeles when he shared his first public comments about the split.

At the concert, one fan requested Jack play Bleachers’ Let’s Get Married, the 2017 song that served as his wedding song when he married Margaret in 2023.

“Absolutely not,” Jack said with a laugh, per USA Today.

He added, “Read the news, brother.”

The Grammy winner went on to clarify, “No, I love that song and I wrote it like, 11 years ago.”

Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley relationship

Antonoff and Qualley, who married in August 2023, separated earlier this year after nearly three years of marriage.

The Maid actress’s rep confirmed the breakup in a statement shared with PEOPLE on July 10.

“The narratives running in the press about Margaret and Jack are categorically untrue. There are no trust issues. There was no infidelity or anything outside of respect and partnership in this relationship,” the statement read.

It added, “They have deep love and care for one another. There are only two people in this marriage, and the sources who are talking to the press and commenting on their relationship are not people who know them. Please respect their privacy.”

Antonoff and Qualley started dating in 2021, and their relationship inspired songs such as Bleachers’ Dirty Wedding Dress and Lana Del Rey’s Margaret.

“Margaret has a light, very positive energy. She’s warm, upbeat and always tries to see the best in people,” a source said in July.

The tipster added, “Jack tends to be more serious. They just look at life differently. Their personalities weren’t the best match in the long run.”

Notably, Antonoff is touring with Bleachers through December as part of the FOREVER tour, while Qualley stars in Love of Your Life, which recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
