Taylor Swift is switching up her signature look.
The Patient Zero singer debuted shorter, curlier hair in a new photo, giving fans a fresh glimpse at her latest hairstyle.
Swift debuted a sleek lob in a new Instagram photo shared Tuesday (October 2), celebrating her “fifth Official Chart Double” as Patient Zero and The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore simultaneously topped the U.K. charts.
In the snapshot, Swift’s dirty blonde hair appeared even shorter than the lob she recently debuted at the MTV Video Music Awards.
She styled her chin-length cut in loose curls, pairing it with a maroon sweater, black belt and khaki trousers, while finishing the look with her signature red lip and winged eyeliner.
Taylor Swift hair looks before debuting shorter curls
At the MTV Video Music Awards, she wore her honey blonde hair straightened and slightly past her collarbone before styling it back into curls.
After wearing her hair long for some time, Swift debuted a shoulder-length bob in August while attending Oli Jacobs and Laura Sisk’s wedding.
Photos obtained by Deuxmoi showed the Opalite singer mingling with fellow guests at the ceremony in Gloucestershire, England.
While Swift often wears her hair straight, she naturally has curly locks.
The Blank Space singer’s signature ringlets were prominently featured on the covers of her first three albums, including her 2006 self-titled debut.
Taylor Swift explained how her hair texture has changed
In a 2019 interview with Elle, Swift explained how her hair texture has changed as she’s gotten older.
She said, “From birth, I had the curliest hair and now it is STRAIGHT. It’s the straight hair I wished for every day in junior high. But just as I was coming to terms with loving my curls, they’ve left me. Please pray for their safe return.”
