In a shocking news update, PEOPLE reported on Wednesday, October 7, that the 46-year-old American actress has broken up from her 39-year-old singer and songwriter boyfriend after dating him for four years.
Speaking to the outlet, an insider close to the couple shared that their split “happened recently.”

Dan Reynolds and Minka Kelly first met in late 2022 through a mutual friend and were spotted together for the first time that November, enjoying a romantic dinner date in Los Angeles, California.
In a 2024 interview, the Believer singer revealed that after first connecting through their mutual friend, they spoke over the phone for about a month before meeting Kelly in the UK as she was working there.
He revealed that they bonded over their creative work, with the singer sending his songs to the actress, while Kelly sent him excerpts from her book, Tell Me Everything: A Memoir.
“She’s like, ‘Well, if you’re going to share your art, I can share something with you, but it’s very vulnerable for me. Do you want to do this or not?’ She was very scared for me to read the book because we hadn’t met, just as much as I was scared for her to hear a song that I’d written,” Reynolds shared in the interview.
He added, “But we shared it and then it ended up being a really beautiful thing and brought us a lot closer. I think it helped us both kind of understand each other on a deeper level quite quickly.”
The former flames kept their romance low-key for a couple of years and made a handful of appearances together before taking a major step in their relationship.
On May 30, 2026, the couple went red carpet official at the MOCA Gala in Los Angeles.
Celebrating Dan Reynolds’ 39th birthday, Kelly paid him a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, writing, “Thank you for making ordinary days feel extraordinary, for making me laugh until I can’t breathe, and for loving so deeply and so freely. Celebrating you is one of my favorite things to do. I love you, Dan. Happy birthday.”
During their relationship, The Roommate actress also bonded with Reynolds’ four children – Arrow, Valentine, Gia, and Coco – whom he shares with his ex-wife, Aja Volkman.
