WhatsApp is currently gearing up to release a redesigned chat bar for its Android application, launching two potential layouts that aim to offer a sleek and modern appearance to the app.
As per WABetaInfo, the changes were found in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.26.41.11. The redesigned chat bar is currently in development, with availability for beta testers accessible soon.
The proposed redesign introduces two significant changes to the conversation screen.
The text input field will move to the upper part of the chat bar, positioned above the button used to open the emoji keyboard.
Meanwhile, the send button will become part of the bar instead of appearing as a separate element outside it.
The Meta-owned WhatsApp is currently experiencing two different arrangements for the updated interface.
In the first design, the emoji button remains on the right side of the chat bar, while the attachment and camera buttons appear on the left, alongside the send button.
The second design provides a more streamlined arrangement, placing the emoji, attachment and camera buttons on the left side, with the send button positioned separately on the right.
Both layouts retain the same core changes, although the arrangement of the controls differs.
The redesign comes after the company’s ongoing efforts to refine its Android interface, including changes to the bottom navigation bar.
It is pertinent to mention WhatsApp has yet to officially confirm which chat bar design it will adopt as well as its accessibility.
For now, Android users will have to wait for the company to enable the redesigned chat bar in a future update.
