Sahara Ray has breathed her last.

On Monday, October 19, TMZ reported that the Australian model, who was rumored to be dating Justin Bieber in 2016, died at the age of 34 in Los Angeles.

In a statement released by her family, it was stated, “She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital. She was so loved.”

Hours after her death, the Daily Mail revealed Sahara Ray’s tragic cause of death, sharing that she reportedly died of a fentanyl overdose.

According to the update, the model was rushed to an LA hospital on Friday, October 16, and was put on life support after overdosing on the synthetic opioid.

“Synthetic opioids, like fentanyl and nitazenes, are opioids made in laboratories from chemicals and have been linked to an increase in fatal drug overdoses,” as shared by Headspace National Youth Mental Health Foundation.

Speaking to the outlet, an insider revealed that Ray’s family made the devastating decision to take her off life support on Sunday, October 18.

It is worth noting that Sahara Ray’s official cause of death has not been confirmed yet. It is also unclear whether the reported overdose was accidental or intentional.

In a statement shared to the outlet, the model’s mother Gretchen Back said, “Sahara was an incredibly passionate and kind young woman who loved her family, fashion, her daughter Snow, and surfing. We’re feeling the love that is pouring in from her cherished friends, fans and the many communities that she was part of around the world.”
