Elon Musk is currently contemplating a visit to India for engaging Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an investment plan.
According to Reuters, he is anticipated to discuss the establishment of a factory in India.
In a recent post on X, the billionaire wrote, "Looking forward to meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in India!"
He has been scheduled to arrive in New Delhi on April 22, when various business leaders will meet for proposing ideas, the announcements for which are to be made separately.
Remaining details of the trip are being kept confidential.
Musk's company, Tesla, as well as Modi's office haven't given any comments when questioned by the media.
There's however still a possibility that the intentions for his forthcoming journey to India might undergo alterations
Reuters previously reported that Tesla officials are likely to check out potential locations for a factory, which could cost around $2 billion.
Additionally, sources have stated that the firm has started making right-hand drive cars at its German plant, later to be put up for sale in India this year.
Tesla is focusing on entering the Indian market as demand for electric vehicles slows down in America and China, where there's also increased competition from Chinese carmakers.
India's electric vehicle market, on the other hand, is small but expanding.
