The annual White House Corecipient’s Association dinner on Saturday night, April 27, was overshadowed by the protests against Israel’s war in Gaza, Palestine.

As per a CBS News report, more than a hundred protesters gathered outside the Washington Hilton hotel and chanted ‘shame on you’ and other slogans to confront the dinner attendees, including journalists and celebrities.

Protesters also chanted at the journalists for undercovering and misrepresenting the war. The crowd, at one point, chanted, “Western media, we see you and all the horrors that you hide.”

Besides a huge protest outside, the topic of Gaza and war was far from the lips of Biden and comedian Colin Jost, who roasted US President Joe Biden for his age and stumbled on an Airforce One stairs.

Meanwhile, Biden, in his speech, made critical remarks about his rival Donald Trump and called him ‘sleepy Don.’

Moreover, Biden did not forget to roast former Vice President Mike Pence's refusal to endorse Trump’s reelection bid and said, “My vice president actually endorses me.”

President also said that another Trump administration would be more harmful to the US than his first term.

Biden said, “We have to take this seriously; eight years ago, we could have written it off as 'Trump talk' but not after January 6.”
