US decides not to join Israel in any retaliation against Iran
The US urged Israel to ‘think carefully and strategically’ about retaliation on Iran

The US senior administration has warned Israel that it will not take part in any retaliatory strikes on Iran.

According to BBC, officials, while speaking to reporters on Sunday, said that US President Joe Biden urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to "think very carefully and strategically" about how Israeli defence forces (IDF) will reply to the unprecedented action of Iran.

The official added that the Biden administration believes that Israel ‘got the best of it’ in the exchange, which began when senior Iranian military commanders were killed at an Iranian consulate.

Moreover, the official declined to comment on whether the White House has warned Israel about any ‘significant response,’ saying that “It is a calculation the Israelis have to make.”

The US national security spokesman, John Kirby, repeatedly emphasized that the US had made it clear to Israel that it seeks to avoid a wider conflict.

In addition to that, the senior administration has sent the same message to Iran through diplomatic channels.

Earlier on April 13, Iran fired over 300 drones and missiles at Israeli territory in response to the April 1 strike on its consulate in Syria.

However, almost all the drones were shot down by Israeli, US and allied forces before they reached their targets.
