In a brutal legal blow, Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner's major plea has been rejected in the Ray J defamation lawsuit.
On Tuesday, March 31, TMZ reported that a judge has denied The Kardashians stars request to keep their 2023 settlement with the 45-year-old American singer sealed.
According to the court documents secured by the outlet, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge rejected Kim and Kris's plea to keep certain deals, including their 2023 secret settlement with Ray J, hidden from the public.
The judge ruled that Kim and Kris failed to provide enough evidence to prove that disclosure of the deals to public would cause them harm, which led him to decide revealing the settlements.
Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner's defamation case against Ray J:
The entire legal fiasco began in October 2025, when the mother-daughter duo sued the One Wish singer for defamation over his claims that they were under Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) investigation by federal authorities, which they have denied.
Taking action against the lawsuit, the singer filed a countersuit, claiming that the SKIMS founder and her mom breached a 2023 confidential agreement with him regarding their controversial sex tape.
Ray J alleged that he was paid a whopping $6 million to keep the infamous tape secret, and claimed that Kim and Kris violated the deal by discussing it on their Hulu show.
