Brie Larson recently talked about landing an icon role of Princess Rosalina in a newly released movie, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Calling it a full-circle moment, the 36-year-old actress during an interview with Cosmopolitan UK expressed her excitement for her character, who is described as “an otherworldly, strong, motherly cosmic force.”
According to Larson, Princess Rosalina “is not fully definable, because she’s everything.
For the actress, her character is all of the things that she thinks are good and true in the world.
Elsewhere in the interview, the Oscar-winning actor admitted that the role brought some challenges despite actress’ past experience of doing voices.
“You get into these conundrums, where the director goes, ‘Okay, well this is Princess Rosalina hugging someone,’ and you’re like, ‘Oh, how does that affect your voice?’” said the Fast X performer.
She also recalled her childhood happy memories of playing video games like Super Mario Galaxy.
“I’ve always loved video games. Some people assume they’re only for a certain type of person but I denounce that idea… It’s art, it’s for everybody,” the Avengers: Endgame shared.
For the unversed, Brie Larson starrer The Super Mario Galaxy Movie hit the theatres on April 1, 2026, in the UK and Ireland.
