Emma Corrin is set to shake up the Marvel Cinematic Universe by playing the mysterious villain Cassandra Nova in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine.

In a recent interview with People Magazine at the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine in New York City on Monday, July 22, Corrin shared the iconic movie characters that inspired their performance.

"I drew inspiration from Christoph Waltz in Inglourious Basterds, which was Ryan's reference when we started," they said referring to Waltz's Academy Award-winning performance as a Nazi Germany era military officer.

Corrin went on to share, "And then not a villain, but I was really inspired by Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka. Sort of a nonchalant, detached power."

The Crown actress further praised co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, noting, "On films like this, the tone and the energy is really set by the people at the top, and it was a gorgeous thing to be a part of, because you really felt included and welcomed. It was a little family."
