Zara Tindall to skip King Charles' Balmoral gathering: Here's why

The Royal Family's annual summer holiday at Balmoral Castle is facing a shake-up as Zara Tindall, the King Charle's niece, is expected to decline the invitation.

According to sources close to the Royal Family, Zara has applied to compete in the Wellington International Horse Trials, scheduled to take place on the same weekend as the family's gathering, leaving her attendance at Balmoral in doubt.

Like most members of the Royal Family, Zara and Mike Tindall had been invited to join the King at his Scottish estate, along with their children Mia, Lena, and Lucas.

A source recently told the Express, "Charles really wants Zara and the family to join him on the last Sunday in August for the bank holiday service, but understands that her horse competitions are extremely important to her."

“Charles is hoping that they [the Tindalls] will be able to come up the week earlier to muck in with the rest of the family so that everyone can enjoy the picnics and walks planned on the estate," they added.

Moreover, the Royal Family will head to Balmoral Castle on August 4 for annual summer holiday which is a cherished tradition.

The castle holds sentimental value as a favorite of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who spent her final days there before passing away on September 8, 2022.
