Matt Damon breaks silence on creative conflicts with Casey and Ben AfflecK

Matt Damon has revealed that he frequently engages in creative arguments with his longtime friends and collaborators, Casey and Ben Affleck, during their projects.

While conversing on the red carpet on Wednesday, July 31, at Jazz at Lincoln Centre in Manhattan to celebrate the premiere of The Instigators, the IF star shared about his working collaboration with the Affleck brothers for more than 25 years since he and Ben co-wrote Good Will Hunting.

He stated, “They're consistently great," adding, "They're consistently incredible partners to work with. And no, there aren't really, usually, any surprises."

Damon mentioned that in their three collaborations, they will "get in creative arguments.”

He continued, "Those are healthy, and we know each other well enough that our feelings don't really get involved and our egos don't get involved."

"So it's a pretty healthy working relationship with both of them," Damon added.

In 2023, Damon and Casey, both 48, went back to their birthplace of Boston to film the movie.

But as Damon admits, the project was on the verge of failure until Casey enlisted Luciana Barroso, his wife, for assistance.

Casey requested that Barroso, 48, have Damon read the script for The Instigators.

Note that The Instigators will be released on August 2 in theaters and August 9 on Apple TV+.
