Joey King has addressed speculation that she underwent a facelift ahead of her Met Gala appearance, setting the record straight on the cosmetic procedure rumors.
The Kissing Booth actress addressed facelift speculation and revealed the changes she has made to her beauty regimen “worked because everybody thought I had plastic surgery.”
“I didn't get a facelift,”she said while making an appearance on Friday's episode of Owen Thiele's In Your Dreams podcast.
She added, “I'm glad we're talking about this.”
Hitting back at claims that she turned to plastic surgery ahead of the Met Gala, she said, “Just want to let you know, didn't get work done, didn't get a facelift.”
King, who stars in Practical Magic 2 alongside Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, then revealed what she did to get her red carpet-ready look.
“What I did do, I got a spray tan,” King shared, before adding, “And then I did a 36-hour fast. No food, nothing but water, which I don't promote that.”
She said she appeared “swollen” at the time because she had spent the weekend at a bachelorette party and had been “drinking a lot.”
“I looked busted,: she said, before adding, “And I was like, "I gotta do a reset. I'm going to do a 24-hour fast, which is good for you to do once a month if you're healthy enough to do anyway.’”
King said she also had a lymphatic massage and facial the day before her second consecutive Met Gala appearance. “We were doing everything we could to look amazing on the carpet,” she said, joking that it worked because “everybody thought I had plastic surgery.”

The Act star, who is married to director Steven Piet, made the admission while promoting Practical Magic 2.
For the long-awaited sequel, King and Maisie Williams are now playing the daughters of Sandra Bullock's character Sally Owens after the original actresses were recast.
