Reba McEntire is set for an emotional tribute to the late singer, Dolly Parton, months after she died of cancer.
The television will gather on Monday night at the Peacock Theatre to stage the first major broadcast tribute to her since the news came on August 25th, 2026.
Reba, her closest friend in country music and arguably her most visible peer in the art of crossing over, performed the honour.
There was no more fitting place for it; the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards are scheduled for a live broadcast on NBC and Peacock, with a standalone tribute segment for the late musician.
Notably, the ceremony will include a 50th anniversary reunion of Charlie’s Angels featuring Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd, along with a 30th anniversary reunion of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz.

NBC and the Television Academy have announced additional presenters for the ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay. The latest additions include Stephen Amell, Noah Beck, Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone and Brooks Nader from Fox’s upcoming Baywatch reboot.
Apart from Reba and Noah, other presenters include LL Cool J and Scott Caan from CBS’ new spinoff NCIS: New York, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson from Apple TV’s comedy series Brothers, and Julia Garner from Netflix’s limited series The Altruists.
Dolly Parton died at the age of 80 following a brief battle with cancer in August of this year; her representatives confirmed she passed away after facing a brief battle with cancer. The specific type of cancer was not disclosed to the public.
This update came after the Daily Mail reported that a Nashville airport bearing Dolly Parton's name is officially moving closer to reality.
The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority voted 6-0 Friday to begin modifying Nashville International Airport’s name in honour of the late country music legend.
According to insiders, the airport authority also claimed that “While a final name has not yet been determined, we are working closely with the appropriate parties to thoughtfully determine how Dolly Parton's name and legacy will be incorporated.”
So far, it is unclear whether the Nashville airport will pay homage to Dolly Parton.
