Weapons prequel recently got an exciting update.

According to Deadline, Zach Shields has joined Zach Cregger to co-write the upcoming Weapons prequel.

The writer has joined the 45-year-old filmmaker on the screenplay for the highly anticipated follow-up to last year's supernatural horror movie.

As per the publication, the forthcoming horror movie will focus on the backstory of Aunt Gladys.

Moreover, the title of the movie is Gladys so far.

It’s worth mentioning here that Weapons is a supernatural mystery horror prequel of 2025 movie with same name.

The Zach Cregger directional stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Toby Huss, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan.

Talking about her role in the prequel, Madigan, who played the sinister antagonist in last year's movie, told Deadline, “This is a woman who knows what she has to do, and she does it.”

The actress, whose performance was also recognised at the Actor Awards, in the end, shared, “Now, granted, some of her methods might be a little unusual.

“But she has that, and I think all women in our business should have more of that confidence, myself included.”

She said, "So if I can take that away from it, I’ll say this is a win for Aunt Gladys and for me.”
