J. Cole cancelled a California performance hours before he was set to hit the stage after one of his crew members was killed in a truck accident.
The 41-year-old was scheduled to perform at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, on Thursday, August 27; however, the venue announced the show had been cancelled.

In an emotional Facebook post, a rep for the arena noted, "Following the tragic passing of a member of the touring crew in a trucking accident this morning, J. Cole's show scheduled for tonight, August 27, at Golden 1 Center has been canceled."
"Our thoughts are with the crew member's family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time," the statement, which was also shared by Live Nation, continued.
Details about the highway crash involving J. Cole's crew member
According to The Sacramento Bee, California Highway Patrol shared that the crew member was driving a semi-truck that veered off the interstate highway and overturned.
The accident happened just after 6:05 a.m. local time on Interstate 5 in Yolo County between the Zamora and Dufour areas and northwest of Woodland.
As per the authorities, the crew member died at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident, the Sacramento Bee reported. The Yolo County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Jarlath Parkinson, 66, of South Carolina.
The driver drifted onto the right shoulder, and when he tried to get back on the road, he lost control, and the truck overturned.
"It's unknown at this time, may have been a distraction or fell asleep. Unfortunately, the solo occupant did not survive the crash," Sgt. David Barker of the California Highway Patrol said in a statement, CBS News Sacramento reported.

Thursday's concert was part of Cole's The Fall-Off World Tour, which has more than 40 stops scheduled between Saturday, August 29, and December 12. The tour will be concluded in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Fans who purchased their ticket via Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded, while those who bought theirs through third-party resellers were prompted to contact their sellers.
The singer had several upcoming stops throughout California, including Oakland on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 30.
He is also still scheduled to perform at Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena on September 1 and at Intuit Dome on September 3 in Inglewood.
