The inside story of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's last weekend in the US before moving back to the UK has come to light.
Harry and Meghan - who touched down in Britain on Wednesday, August 26, reportedly spent their last weekend in Montecito, California surrounded with close ones, including Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet's friends and Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland.
An insider exclusively told PEOPLE magazine, "They wanted to spend time with the people they’re closest to before they left and for the kids to have some special time with friends."
The source further claimed that "It wasn’t a goodbye forever."
Infact their final meeting has a meaningful message as "It was much more, ‘We’ll be back, but this is what we’re doing right now.’"
Lifting the curtain on Harry and Meghan's feelings over leaving their Montecito mansion after six years, where they have been living since 2020, the insider confirmed that they were deeply emotional.
"They’ve been planning this for some time, and they feel it’s the right thing for their family, but that doesn’t mean leaving was easy," revealed the insider.
"Meghan really loves their life in Montecito and their home there. They know it’s going to take a little bit of time for everyone to settle in and adjust," they added.
The source also claimed that "There’s excitement about what’s ahead too, especially for the kids."
"They’re really happy for them and for everything they’ll get to experience," added the insider.
