Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has officially acquired his dream supercar, a legendary Ferrari F40 and restored it with the help of Ferrari’s factory engineers.
Childhood dream realized
Hamilton shared his long-held passion for the iconic vehicle, describing it as his absolute dream car.
“My very own F40. This is the car of my dreams and has been for as long as I can remember. As a kid I dreamt of having one,” he wrote, explaining that when he joined Ferrari, he “made sure to have one with me on my first day at Maranello.”
A forgotten classic found
The rare supercar was discovered after spending decades out of sight. Hamilton noted, “These cars are works of art and incredibly rare, so when I found this one, covered in dust after being sat in garage for over thirty years, I knew I had to bring her home.”
Revived at Maranello
To bring the dusty legend back to life, Hamilton brought the vehicle straight to Ferrari’s headquarters.
“First to Maranello, where the master engineers and mechanics at the factory worked for weeks to bring her back to life,” he stated. He expressed a “massive thank you to everyone who had a hand in this project.”
A dream comes true
Reflecting on the successful restoration, the racing star called the accomplishment a personal milestone. “This has truly been a dream come true,” Hamilton stated, teasing future updates for his followers by adding, “I can’t wait to share more with you all. Stay tuned.”
