Another health scare for Lionel Richie!
The Truly singer was admitted to the hospital shortly after his St. Louis concert.
On Monday, August 31st, the Hello hitmaker was hospitalised in the intensive care unit after he performed to up to 11,000 people.
According to TMZ, Lionel checked himself into a hospital after his Saturday, Aug. 29 concert in St. Louis, where he reportedly asked for a chair as he closed the show with All Night Long.
He is currently under the strict observation of the doctors while undergoing tests and remained hospitalised as of Monday afternoon.
Notably, the tests' findings suggested that the critically acclaimed rapper was feeling anxious due to severe dehydration.
Fans' reaction over hospital
As the news of his hospital admission has gained momentum on social media, several fans raised health concerns, with one commenting, "Hope he is ok."
"Please don't let him go! After this shocking week, please Lord can we keep Lionel!!!!" another said.
While a third added, "Oh hell! He’s a legend! Saw him in 2011 when he toured Australia with John Farnham."
His next scheduled date on the Sing a Song All Night Long Tour is Sept. 26 in San Francisco, giving Lionel several weeks before he is due back onstage.
During the first night of Lionel's 26-city North American tour at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota, the four-time Grammy winner appeared visibly distressed.
He addressed the crowd, saying, "When you're feeling dizzy, sit your ass down."
Nearly an hour later, saxophonist Dino Soldo announced the show was cancelled because Richie was "not feeling well."
Lionel Richie's previous health crisis
This is not the first time Lionel Richie has been feeling ill; he also sparked buzz in June of this year when he felt dizzy and stopped his performance during the opening night of his tour in St. Paul, Minnesota.
At the time, he took to his Instagram account to share the update, stating, "Thank you for every message, every kind word, and for all your love. I’m doing well, and I’m grateful for all of you."
"Pittsburgh and Detroit were an absolute joy. The energy, the dancing, the faces in the crowd we made real memories together," Lionel Richie added.
