George Clooney has a special reason to shine at the 2026 Venice Film Festival!
The Ocean's Eleven star is set to receive a heartfelt honour from his Jay Kelly co-actress, Laura Dern, at the star-studded event.
On Monday, August 31st, media reports claimed that the Academy-winning actress will deliver the Laudatio speech honouring the Hollywood star George Clooney at the upcoming edition of the Venice Film Festival.
In the statement, the organisers have confirmed, stating, "Academy Award winner Laura Dern will give the Laudatio honouring George Clooney, on the occasion of the awarding of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement to the American actor and director."
Revealing the date, the film festival’s creators added, "On Wednesday, September 2nd in the Sala Grande of the Palazzo del Cinema (Lido di Venezia), during the Opening Ceremony of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival of La Biennale di Venezia."
For those unaware, George Clooney and Laura Dern have worked together in a movie, Jay Kelly, which was released in 2025.
