Indian rapper Badshah and Isha Rikhi have confirmed that they have split up after five months of marriage.
On Monday, August 31, both the rapper and the actress shared a matching statements, informing fans of their divorce.
Badshah issues statement announcing divorce from Isha Rikhi
In the statement shared on Instagram Stories, Badshah said that the decision was mutual and asked fans and the media to respect their privacy.
"I and Isha Rikhi have mutually decided to part ways and move forward on our separate paths," Badshah penned in the surprising statement.
He added, "This decision has been made with mutual respect, and we request everyone to kindly respect our privacy during this time."
"This will be our only statement on the matter. We sincerely request that there be no further speculation or assumptions regarding our relationship," he wrote to conclude the message.
Rumours about troubled marriage between Badshah and Isha Rikhi
Speculations about their romance going through a rough patch first emerged in July, when Isha shared a carousel of clicks and videos featuring moments with Badshah, with a cryptic caption, reading, "Every storm is a lesson. Every prayer is hope."
The rumours gained momentum when Isha's mother, Poonam Rikhi, followed her post with a series of social media posts centred on karma.
In June, Isha confirmed her marriage with Badshah during an Instagram "Ask Me Anything" session.
The couple's divorce announcement came amid reports that Isha is set to participate in Bigg Boss 20, the upcoming season of the reality show, hosted by Salman Khan.
Badshah's previous marriage
For Badshah, this would be his second marriage to end in divorce, as he was previously married to Jasmine Masih, with whom he shares a daughter, Jessemy Grace Masih Singh.
The former couple separated before finalising their divorce in 2020.
