King Charles has issued a major update following the hospitalisation of Queen Elizabeth’s third cousin, Queen Margrethe.
The Royal family took to Instagram on Monday to share an update about Queen Camilla and King Charles as they attended the Braemar Gathering at the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park in Aberdeenshire
On Sunday, September 6th, Charles and Camilla were spotted arriving by car at Crathie Kirk, the small parish church near where the royal family holidayed at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
Sharing the snaps of the gathering, Buckingham Palace captioned it, “Over the weekend, The King and Queen attended the Braemar Gathering at the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park in Aberdeenshire.”
The palace added, “Held on the first Saturday of September every year, the Gathering features events including tug-of-war, caber toss, hammer throw, Highland dancing and a parade of pipe bands.”
It is worth noting that the monarch is a patron of the Braemar Royal Highland Society, with the reigning monarch attending the annual event since 1848.
To note, this update came following the Danish Family revealed that Queen Margrethe II has been rushed to hospital after facing a major health issue.
The Danish Royal Family announced on Sunday that Queen Margrethe II had been admitted to Rigshospitalet after feeling unwell.
She was diagnosed with mild dehydration and a new blood clot in her hip region.
“Her Majesty Queen Margrethe was admitted to Rigshospitalet on Sunday after feeling unwell,” read the statement.
It continued, “A new blood clot in the hip region and mild dehydration have been diagnosed, both of which are being treated. Queen Margrethe is in good spirits and is doing well under the circumstances.”
“Queen Margrethe is expected to be hospitalized next week for both observation and treatment. This means that Her Majesty will unfortunately not attend King Harald's funeral in Oslo on Wednesday. The Royal House will announce when there is news,” the statement concluded.
Notably, her latest hospitalisation comes more than three months after Queen Margrethe had surgery at Rigshospitalet.
