After King Charles' another public snub, Prince Harry has decided to move on with his first major public appearance.
The Duke of Sussex – who travelled from California to the United Kingdom alongside his family in the last week of August has confirmed his first engagement since he touched down in Britain.
On Thursday, September 10th, the youngest son of King Charles issued a new statement, revealing dates of his upcoming public appearance at the 2026 WellChild Awards.
"It is always a privilege to be part of the WellChild Awards and to meet the extraordinary children, young people, families and professionals whose courage and determination inspire us all," Harry said.

For those unaware, at the same event, Prince William – who has not spoken with his younger brother since he published his bombshell memoir, Spare, in 2021- is also expected to attend to represent the monarchy.
However, the Prince of Wales has not made his confirmation public, instead focusing on his royal engagements as he recently toured Norway with Princess Anne to attend the funeral service of King Harald V, who died at the age of 89 in August, 2026.
Prince Harry – who recently declared "private citizen" by his cancer-stricken father- spoke about the forthcoming awards ceremony, saying, "This year feels particularly special as we celebrate 20 years of the WellChild Nurse programme."
"Two decades of supporting thousands of children and families and helping them to live more of their lives at home. These Awards are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate that impact, but above all to celebrate the incredible people at the heart of it. Their stories are a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through compassion, connection and community," the father of two added.

For those unaware, Prince Harry has been a longstanding royal patron of WellChild, the national charity for seriously ill children in the UK, since 2007.
The charity foundation's aim is to support seriously ill children, young people, and their families to navigate the challenges of complex medical needs and live at home.
