In a recent interview, the billionaire's mom, Maye Musk, shared her honest take on the backlash the Euphoria actress has been facing following a campaign for the US sports-prediction market, in which she could be seen in nothing but sports equipment.

Talking to Fox News, Maye was asked if she have any thoughts on the scrutiny the actress has been facing because of the ad, to which Elon's mother admitted that she was not fully aware of the controversy and has "seen some of it on X", calling Sydney "fabulous", "beautiful", and someone who has "a great sense of humour".
Addressing the internet reaction, Maye said that Sydney is allowed to "look sexy and have fun" when it comes to "modelling and acting".

The reaction came as Sydney as has been embroiled in controversy and has been getting heat by the internet and the professional athletes for damaging sports for young girls.
Since its launch on September 9, Sydney Sweeney's Novig campaign has received criticism from several female athletes, including British sprinter Amy Hunt, gymnast Gracie Kramer, and Olympic swimmer Ariarne Titmus.

The backlash also led to the actress reportedly losing over 200,000 Instagram followers.
According to Social Blade data, Sydney gained about 50,000 followers in the three days after the campaign launched, then lost 136,848 on Sunday and another 68,000 on Monday.
Novig CEO Jacob Fortinsky stated that Sydney initiated discussions about the partnership and contributed to the campaign's creative direction.
She now serves as a strategic partner and equity holder in the sports-focused prediction market.
