Prince William was forced to step in during a hilarious moment with Princess Kate as the royal couple visited the Isle of Bute.
The Prince and Princess of Wales enjoyed a delightful day on the Isle of Bute on Thursday, with a hilarious moment becoming one of the highlights of their first official visit to the Scottish island.
As the couple, known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay in Scotland, greeted crowds in their namesake town, Catherine became so caught up chatting with well-wishers that Prince William eventually stepped in.
"You've got to speed up," he quipped, tapping his watch.
William added, "You've got to get all the way down there before you go!"
The 44-year-old royal appeared to offer the crowd an apology as she held a bouquet of flowers, before stopping again to chat with well-wishers further down the line.
William was seen standing behind his wife, appearing amused as he chatted with a team member while Catherine continued stopping for selfies with enthusiastic well-wishers.
The crowd responded with cheers and applause, with one person shouting: “You two are f****** brilliant!”
This is not the first occasion Catherine has been left trailing behind her family during a royal outing.
At a 2024 Christmas walkabout, she found herself so far behind William and the children that she quipped: “I seem to have lost my family!”
