Buckingham Palace has highlighted an impactful move amid ongoing Royal Family troubles.
The Royal Family’s Instagram account shared a big update on Sunday, September 20, unveiling Prince Edward’s powerful move on World Cleanup Day.
In the update, Buckingham Palace shared that the Duke of Edinburgh, as Patron of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, stepped out with the awards participants, young people, and community groups to participate in litter picking to mark the day.
Alongside a carousel of photos from the engagement, they shared, “70 years of young people giving back to their communities is something worth celebrating.”
“For #WorldCleanUpDay, our global Award family has come together for a day of collective action. This morning, our Patron, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, joined a litter pick alongside local Award participants, young people, and community groups,” the Palace noted.
They added, “A huge thank you to all of the young people who joined us, to everyone who participated in World Cleanup Day with us, and to every person across the world who has volunteered through their DofE over the last seven decades.”

Buckingham Palace’s latest update comes amid escalating drama between Charles Spencer and King Charles III.
The 9th Earl Spencer is gearing up to release an explosive memoir, titled Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, based on his elder sister’s life, in which he takes aim at the British monarch with scathing claims.
In the first excerpts from the book, Earl Spencer claimed that the then-Prince of Wales told him, “Rest assured, we’ll forget her [Diana] soon enough!” shortly before his late sister’s funeral in 1997.
Responding to the claim, a palace spokesperson stated, “While we do not comment on books as a matter of principle, His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory in ways others do not recognise, even many years after such a loss."
Spencer also alleged that the 77-year-old monarch was “giddily elated” upon hearing about Princess Diana’s death.
