King Charles' office has shared a heartfelt update about the Princess Royal, as her family navigates a shocking loss.
On Wednesday, September 23, it was announced that Zara Tindall's father-in-law, Phil Tindall, had passed away at the age of 80 after a prolonged battle with Parkinson's disease.
Royal Family shares Princess Anne's public outing
Turning to the official Instagram account on Thursday, September 24, it was shared that Anne was celebrating fifty years of Farms for City Children.
"Founded by Sir Michael Morpurgo and Lady Clare Morpugo, the charity has welcomed more than 108,000 children and young people to its farms for immersive residential experiences that enable children from cities, particularly those experiencing inequality, to spend a week living and learning on working farms."
During her visit, Anne met children and teachers who were visiting from John Donne Primary School, as they interacted with farm animals and got their hands dirty by tending to produce.
For the outing, Anne rocked a smart-casual tailored outfir, featuring a cream blazer with patterned silk scarf tucked neatly under her jacket collar.
She accessorised her look with a gold brooch and a dark leather shoulder bag.
Mike Tindall's father dies at 80
Confirming the heartbreaking news, Princess Anne's son-in-law, Mike Tindall, shared, "Unfortunately, my dad passed away last week."
He expressed his gratitude to Otley Rugby Club in West Yorkshire, where Phil once led the side as captain, saying, "Big shout-out to Otley Rugby Club. They played Chester on the weekend, and they did a minute's silence to my dad, who was captain in '72, '73."
Phil Tindall had been struggling with Pakinson's disease for decades.
In a 2020 interview with the Daily Mail, Mike revealed that his father had been living with the disease for 17 years, with his condition gradually deteriorating.
